Ayurveda is a sister science to yoga which translates to “life knowledge”. Ayurvedic principles connect us to the daily rhythms of nature, which can help increase our vibrancy, improve our health, lessen our stresses and connect us to a greater joy in life. In this introduction workshop we will discuss the ancient philosophy behind Ayurveda, the energy and healing components of the 5 great elements (space, air, fire, earth and water ) and how they combine to become the doshas known as “ Vata, Pitta and Kapha” . We will explore the unique attributes of each dosha and how they govern parts of the body, the 4 seasons of each year, each stage of our lives, even down to the hours the of each day. This rich understanding of the great elements can put us in true harmony with mother nature for our greatest well being and optimal health.
