Chakra Namaskar

Ancient yogis defined chakras as wheels of light or spinning vortexes of energy.  These energy centers within the subtle body are also psychosomatic processing centers, which assimilate and express information. The chakras can be accessed and manipulated through asana practice therefore providing us with the opportunity to observe, balance, and honor our needs.  This asana practice will specifically tend to each of the chakras as we steep in specific movement patterns correlating to each chakra. Through awareness combined with movement we will balance the energy body, as well as the physical and mental bodies.

Do you feel at home right now? Or do you sense a hovering anxiety or uncertainty, an underlying unease that makes you feel just a bit uncomfortable, a bit distracted and disconnected from those around you?

In The Road Home, Ethan Nichtern investigates the journey each of us takes to find where we belong. Drawing from contemporary research on meditation and mindfulness and his experience as a Buddhist teacher and practitioner, Nichtern describes in fresh and deeply resonant terms the basic existential experience that gives rise to spiritual seeking—and also to its potentially dangerous counterpart, spiritual materialism. He reveals how our individual quests for self-awareness ripple forward into relationships, communities, and society at large. And he explains exactly how, by turning our awareness to what’s happening around us and inside us.

Redefining Balance
Limited Capacity seats available

Redefining Balance is an exploration into taking the yoga practice off the mat into new forms of balance through the unique practices of Slacklining (www.YogaSlackers.com) and AcroYoga (www.AcroYoga.org). Acro blends the dynamic power of partner acrobatics with the awareness of yoga poses to base & fly on other peoples, feet, hands and knees. Similarly, the Slackline Series (www.YogaSlackers.com) introduces the idea of practicing yoga on a slackline suspended above ground for an amazing introduction to moving meditation that will focus your body and mind in a whole new way that is accessible to students of all levels. Redefining Balance introduces powerful tools for communication and support for individuals who have some experience in yoga or acrobatics or slacklining and are looking to deepen their practice and take it to new heights. In addition to a new approach to the physical practice of yoga, Redefining Balance explores the idea that balance is ultimately the result of our energy, focus and ability to connect to others and our surroundings. Illuminate Your Practice
Limited Capacity seats available

The word Courage comes from the Latin word "Cor"-which means Heart. Quieting our mind, connecting to our breath, and creating a clear vision on our mat empowers us to discover all that is possible for ourselves, our practice and our lives, and to move forward on our path with courage and faith. The practice of yoga brings us deeper into the true space within where we are guided and led by grace; where all things are possible and we discover who we truly are. Oftentimes we bury these messages through fear, doubt, lack of confidence or disbelief.  In this workshop, Jill will lead you through an amazing vinyasa flow and an empowering meditation that will clear your mind, release your fears and your doubts, and tap you into your inner wisdom and strength, causing a breakthrough in your practice and your life; removing the self imposed barriers and blocks and into the world of possibility.

Ayurveda: Balancing the 5 Great Elements by Knowing Your Prakruti
Limited Capacity seats available

Ayurveda is a sister science to yoga which translates to “life knowledge”. Ayurvedic principles connect us to the daily rhythms of nature which can help increase our vibrancy, improve our health, lessen our stresses and connect us to a greater joy in life. In this hands on workshop we will determine your personal and unique blend of the 5 great elements, known as your prakruti. The doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) are the combined energies that make up our mental, physical and spiritual beings. When the doshas are in perfect balance we are in harmony, when they are out of balance there is dis - ease in the body and mind. Knowing your unique prakruti and how to balance it on a daily basis is the art of ayurveda. You will leave with an understanding of your prakruti, and how to keep it balanced through dietary guidelines, lifestyle suggestions and through daily routines, called dinacharya.
